FAQ – Frequently asked questions about electric underfloor heating systems

If underfloor heating is operated electrically, you can easily use it with your own photovoltaic system. Those who use electric underfloor heating systems and who use the electricity they produce themselves, acquire heat that is both CO2-neutral and sometimes quite economical. Operators know that the remuneration for feed-ins from their own photovoltaic system is continuously dropping. Therefore, for every operator, it pays off more and more to use the electricity they produce themselves as much as possible. For private households, installing an electric surface heating system for floors or on walls can be profitable. On the one hand, you increase your own consumption and, at the same time, the comfort you have within your own four walls. Photovoltaics can be used very well for electric heating, especially in transitional periods. If it is pleasantly warm during the day but cool in the evening, the electricity produced is simply fed into the electric underfloor heating system in the evening.

Hot water underfloor heating systems must be serviced regularly as part of the entire heating system. With underfloor heating systems that are operated electrically, maintenance is limited to a simple performance check. The maintenance costs of electric underfloor heating systems are therefore very low. A big advantage that many electric heaters have. With professional installation, electric underfloor heating systems rarely incur repair costs. They are extremely robust. This is why you get a 20-year guarantee on our installed heating tapes. Enjoy this plus in terms of safety, which lasts well beyond the statutory warranty period.

In principle, all floor coverings and even wall surfaces are suitable for installing electric underfloor heating systems. Whether wood, laminate, parquet, linoleum, vinyl, stone, tiles, carpet, or wall plaster – there are almost no limits when it comes to choosing. There are even hardly any restrictions when it comes to the way floor coverings should be laid over underfloor heating systems. We will be happy to advise you on this! No matter whether you install your new electric heating system on the floor or on the wall, whether you want to heat the whole room or just individual areas: your home can be designed as you see fit, and you can look forward to that extra bit of comfort and cosiness on cold days.

Electric floor heaters do not disperse any dust into the air like conventional radiators. This is an enormous advantage, especially for allergy sufferers or asthmatics. The room is moderately heated with a temperature of 21° – 25 °C over the desired area. This prevents the ambient air from becoming too warm, and the difference in temperature and air circulation between floors and ceilings is small. Because of this effect, hardly any substances that cause allergies are whirled up. It also successfully prevents mould from forming on walls or ceilings.

Many customers ask whether you can retrofit electric underfloor heating systems in old buildings. People often wish not to damage a beautiful stone floor or to retrofit an underfloor heating system in their bathrooms. Our electrically operated floor heating system variant has a very low construction height of only 0.2 mm. This makes it perfect for retrofitting old buildings. Because the greatest advantages of our electric underfloor heating system include the low installation height, quick implementation by us and comparatively low acquisition costs. In addition to this, you have maintenance-free operation and pleasant warmth that an electric heating system offers for every room. Electric underfloor heating systems are also suitable for many different types of floor coverings and are often installed directly under them. Electric underfloor heating systems in old buildings, therefore, have more advantages than disadvantages. For everything to fit together perfectly, we recommend individual consultation and planning from our on-site installers before you decide on having an electric underfloor heating system installed in an old building.
